Sanghyang Widhi Is the one almighty god, this term is used by Balinese people to name everything who create the universe and everything in it, In Balinese faith Sanghyang widhi is one but can be manifested or realized with various name by god like Siwa, Wisnu, Brahma and others.

In Bali Arts is not just a decoration, All the arts: Dancing, Painting, Carving has meanings. The arts are connected with rituals, offering, and customs is has strong spirit and spiritual meaning behind it. Almost all the Balinese arts describe Ramayana/Mahabharata stories, Balinese mythology and spiritual figure like Rangda and Barong. Balinese Craftsmen known super thorough that makes all balinese arts so unique because the small details can make it by them but it’s not easy we have to be very careful and patient to make it.

There are some symbols in Bali that usually use in every Balinese Arts there are: Patra (carved motif), Barong Symbol, Om Kara (AUM), flowers symbol and others. These symbols has meaning behind it: 

  1. Patra Symbol: Patra is one of Sanskrit word which mean protection and harmony. Patra is the main in every Balinese Arts because of it’s flexible, aesthetic and not too sacred nature. 
  2. Barong Symbol: Barong is one of Balinese Mythological creatures from Balinese tradition which has meaning goodness, protection, and balance of nature. 
  3. Om Kara (AUM): Om Kara or sometimes written as (AUM) is the first sound initial vibration or the first vibration when the universe first create in Hindu’s teachings. 
  4. Flowers Symbol: Flower symbol is universal symbol has meaning sincerity, holiness, beauty, and spiritual offerings and also symbolizes relationship with god.

A good question usually The real Balinese art have a raised paint texture, clear brush strokes, natural color, and an original signature on the canvas; while replicas or prints have a flat surface like a print, the colors are too digital and there is no texture or paint stains on the back of the canvas.

  1. Wood Art: From the name usually Balinese people make it with Suar Wood and Pule wood. Suar wood usually for make their craving wood arts, Nangka wood (jackfruit wood)  or pule wood   this wood usually use to make traditional Balinese art and sacral Balinese statue.
  2. Stone Art: In Bali, usually they use volcanic stone and sandstone they use this materials usually to make temple guardian statue, relief carving, temple ornaments, statue of god and goddesses.
  3. Painting Art: In Bali our painting was something where is unique and special and it became into a question, what they use to make an unique painting? the answer are natural pigments, cloth, paper and tree bark.
  4. Metal Art: Bali also have metal which has the biggest place creates metal arts in Bali located at Celuk-Gianyar, We usually use bronze, brass, gold and silver to make jewelry, Gamelan Instruments, ritual statues and statues.
  5. Textile Art: Fun fact in Bali The Balinese women known as fashionable when they want go to temple, they will wear the best saroong (kamben) to go there and here it is, textile art in bali usually use cotton or silk which is the best materials to make kamben/saroong usually we make endek textile, songket fabrics and ceremonial or traditional clothes.
  6. Weaving Art: Balinese People have a magical hands as you can see in all of these information weaving art also the unique balinese’s art which they use bamboo, rattan, and palm tree and usually they use it to make household crafts, ceremonial offering, decorations and the most unique one is bamboo weaving which has detail shape where we have to be patient to make it.
